Two tiers of speaking practice, scored differently, on purpose. The 18 full nurse role-plays are graded by AI against these real OET criteria — both linguistic and clinical — with a band, a reason and a concrete fix for each, the same way a real assessor works. The shorter technique drills (chunk-and-check, opening a consultation, and the like) measure pace, hesitations, pauses and filler words — the delivery signals every course on How you Talk measures — and are practice reps for one skill at a time, not separately content-graded.

Scoring. Every score here is a practice estimate, not an official grade.

Who actually asks for OET, and what grade

OET exists because nursing regulators need to know a candidate can communicate safely with patients, not just pass a general English test. Requirements are set by each regulator directly — always confirm on the regulator's own site before booking.

United Kingdom

NMC registration The Nursing and Midwifery Council accepts OET at Grade B in each of the four sub-tests as one route to proving English-language competence for registration. NMC ↗
